Questions on Texas Bounty Hunting

were a group of Private Investigators in Dallas TX and we had a couple of questions regarding Fugitive Recovery, Just covering our bases and trying to do things legally. we have not started to do Fugitive Recovery but were trying to finish getting all of our licenses. Were trying to get Security Officer level 2, 3, and PPO 4. ...

First of all this is what we have,

We have insurance for both Private Investigations and Fugitive Apprehension
Certifications for Taser
Concealed Hand Guns licenses
Baton and Handcuff and OC Spray training.
Private Investigations Licenses

This is what we need to know, since we've been looking all over for the information we stumbled upon your site. hopefully you can answer the following questions Thank you in advance, Ruben Roel

1) Can we carry our Hand guns, while doing a fugitive recovery case? - if not, what kind of licensing do we need? (Level 3 - 4 security officers?)

no, unless you are a licensed security guard in full uniform on duty.

2) Can we carry our Tasers while doing a fugitive recovery case? - if not what kind of licensing do we need?

Yes you can carry a taser, no license required.

3) Our vests have "Fugitive Enforcement" Can we have that on our vest? (several people tell us thats a felony to wear Enforcement) if not, can we have Fugitive Recovery? or what is the appropriate term to have in our vest to identify us?

NO!! You can only identify yourself as a PI .

4) if we know that a defendant is inside of the house because we can see him through a window etc. Can we enter the residence? or do we have to get a warrant?

You can not go into a house without permission. If the door is broke, or they lie you are in trouble. Video tape every capture or at least a pocket voice recorder. CYA

5) Lastly, when we apprehend someone for example in Houston after missing bail in Dallas, do we have to turn him in to the Houston Authority? or can we transfer him back to Dallas? (we dont want to be kidnapping anyone)

You must turn a fugitive in to the nearest jail, no transporting and no wasting time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
